- Candidates must submit a completed application form and appropriate fees.
- Must provide a statement as to his or her trustworthiness and competency signed by at least three reputable residents of the Territories.
- New applicants (not licensed in any jurisdiction) are required to pass the General Insurance Examination prepared by the Insurance Institute of Canada before a license can be issued.
Non-resident applicants must submit an original, personal non-resident endorsement, certificate of agent status, or certificate of authority not more than three months old, from the appropriate licensing authority in their home jurisdiction. This document must be issued to the Northwest Territories or the Territory of Nunavut on behalf of the applicant.
